The Leh Ladakh Trip (9 Nights / 10 Days) is a well-rounded circuit that combines nights in Nubra, Pangong, Kargil, and the Dah Hanu belt, giving you a complete flavour of Ladakh's most prominent tourist places across the ten-day journey.
Ladakh is celebrated for landmarks such as Shey, Thiksey, Hemis, the Gurudwara Pathar Sahib, the Magnetic Hill and Sangam confluence, the Hall of Fame, the Kali Mata temple, and the Shanti Stupa, along with many more sights woven into this route. The trip pairs the golden dunes of Nubra Valley and the turquoise waters of Pangong Lake with the remote Aryan villages of Dah Hanu and the war-history stops around Kargil, rounding out into one of Ladakh's most complete short circuits.
Day-Wise Detailed Itinerary
Arrive at Leh
Check in to your hotel on arrival at Leh and take a full day of rest to acclimatise to the high altitude — Leh sits roughly 3,500 metres above sea level. Overnight at hotel.
Leh Local Sightseeing
After a delightful breakfast, spend the day sightseeing at Shey Palace, Thiksey Monastery, and the Stok Palace Museum. In the afternoon, visit the Shanti Stupa. Overnight stay at the hotel.
Leh - Nubra Valley via Khardung La
After breakfast, drive to Nubra Valley via Khardung La. Once down from the pass, continue on for sightseeing at Samstaling Gompa and the Sumoor area, then check into a fixed camp nearby, or drive across to Diskit for dinner and an overnight camp stay.
Nubra Valley - Leh
In the morning, visit Diskit with the option of a short camel safari on the double-humped Bactrian camels found among the sand dunes at Hunder. Drive back to Leh and check into your hotel. In the evening, explore the market for some last-minute souvenir shopping.
Leh - Pangong Lake
After breakfast, drive to Pangong Lake via the Chang La pass. The famous brackish blue lake stretches over 133 km long and 5-6 km wide, with part of it running across the Indo-China border, making for an unforgettable, close-to-nature setting. Check into a fixed camp near the lake at Spangmik, or drive on to Tangtse for a hotel/guest house stay. Overnight stay in a camp.
Pangong - Hemis / Thiksey - Leh
Wake up early to catch the mesmerising sunrise over the lake, with the snow-clad peaks lit up like diamonds. After breakfast, leave Pangong/Tangtse and retrace the route back across Chang La. On reaching Karu, cross the Indus to visit the famous Hemis Monastery, the largest in Ladakh, before continuing to Leh via the picturesque Thiksey monastery. Overnight stay at hotel.
Drive to Dah Hanu
In the morning, drive west of Leh to visit the Kali Mata temple/Magnetic Hill and the Sangam/Pathar Sahib Gurudwara. Continue to Khaltse, leaving the Kargil highway to follow the Indus River to Achinathang, then on to Beema village. Check in at your camp at Beema Lastyang, then proceed to Bema, Dah, and Hanu villages to see the local Aryan communities.
Drive to Kargil
After breakfast, continue on to Batalik, situated near the Line of Control with Pakistan, then reach Himbotingla Pass for incredible views of Kargil, the Shashi La pass, and the Suru Valley. Drive down to Kargil, with a short detour to Drass to visit the Kargil War Memorial, before returning to Kargil for the overnight stay.
Drive back to Leh
After breakfast, drive back toward Leh, exploring the Fotu La pass and the Lamayuru monastery with its Moonland terrain, along with the Maitreya Buddha statue at Mulbekh. Continue on to visit the Alchi monastery, notably the only major monastery in Ladakh built on flat ground, before arriving in Leh for the overnight stay.
Depart Leh (Fly Out)
On this final day of the journey, check out after an early breakfast and depart for your onward destination via the railway station or airport.
